H.Zuiko Auto-S 1:1,2 f = 42 mm

Das H.Zuiko Auto-S 1:1,2 f = 42 mm ist wohl das bemerkenswerteste der Zuiko-Objektive im PEN F-System: Extrem lichtstark, kompakt, ungewöhnlich hohe Schärfe und Auflösung - und dies schon bei offener Blende.

Im Lieferumfang waren Köcher, Vor- und Rückdeckel enthalten.

Lt. diverser japanischer Quellen ist gesichert, dass schwach radioaktive Linsen ("Thorium") verbaut wurden. Gefahr für den Anwender tritt aber in keinem Fall auf. Hier ein sehr treffendes Zitat von dcsides dazu:

"If this lens worries you, DO NOT EXPOSE YOURSELF TO THE SUN! It's much more dangerous to you and your film..."

Die hierbei verwendeten Gläser haben beim Durchschauen eine gewisse "Gelbfärbung", die aber nicht immer zu einem gelblichen Farbstich führt - hierzu ist aber zu bemerken, dass dies für die digitale Fotografie absolut nebensächlich ist, da der korrekte Weißabgleich durch das Objektiv ermittelt wird und dabei evtl. Farbstiche korrigiert werden.

Lt. einer sehr zuverlässigen Quelle kann beim H.Zuiko Auto-S 1:1,2 f = 42 mm (und beim F.Zuiko Auto-T 1:2 f = 70 mm) eine Verfärbung der Innenseite der Frontlinse auf eine "Verölung" zurückgeführt werden. Hierbei entstehen bei der Fokussierung "Öldämpfe", die auf der Innenseite der Frontlinse kondensieren. Dies ist aber mit einer "fachmännischen" Reinigung zu beheben.

Kann ohne Probleme an neuzeitliche Evil-Kameras - wie z.B. an eine Sony NEX 5N - adaptiert werden. Hierbei werden - auch an dem "großen" APS-C-Sensor - hervorragende Ergebnisse erreicht.

"As noted in the dicussion of the f/1.4 lens, most high speed lenses have inherent problems with flare and other aberations at maximum apertures. Unfortunately, this f/1.2 lens suffer to a marked degree. Even when stopped down to f/1.4, it doesn't approach the resolution of the f/1.4 lens. However some may consider an f/1.2 lens an absolute necessity, especially when it means the difference between a picture at all. When stopped down to f/4, the flare in this lens all but disappears, and optimum performance is reached at f/8."

"This lens has very good center performance across the range, but also very strong field curvature. The charts above show the best values for sharpness achieved at each position. Focused for central performance, the corners will be very soft wide open. If you want across the frame performance at large apertures you will need to make a compromise between center sharpness and corner sharpness . However, by only f/2.8 has great resolution across the frame.
Distortion is very noticeable, but not extreme -1.6% barrel (numeric average for all apertures).
Lateral CA is not well controlled and is visible on shots. Longitudinal CA in the out of focus regions is noticeable at large apertures, but is pretty decent for this class lens.
Coma and astigmatism are fairly minor. There is noticeable optical vignetting (cats eye shaped bokeh and a spiral look to the bokeh) at large apertures.
Purple fringing is minor, but there is some visible wide open.
The lens is sensitive to flare.
Bokeh is subjective, and it does get harsh in some conditions, but overall I find it very pleasing. Not sure why it gets such harsh reviews online, as the bokeh of this lens is less questionable than the 38mm f/1.8."
